The Difference
There are two differences between my candidacy and the traditional candidates for State Assembly.
First, I believe issues, not personality should be the most important part of elections. Many candidates and politicians will try to win your vote with fancy speeches and vague platitudes. I know that the average voter – especially in District 29 – is well educated and understands the nuance of public policy. Not only do Nevada’s taxpayers understand the policies, but they feel the effects when they succeed or fail. In these difficult times, it is not enough to simply declare that we need less spending, low taxes, job creation, and better education. Nevada deserves better. That’s why I will work hard to give you specific solutions to the problems we face whenever I can, and not give you the same old story you get from professional politicians with no concrete ideas or specific plans. I will work as hard as I can to understand Nevada’s budget problems and their solutions.
Secondly, I will be a fresh voice in government. I am not and will not be bought and paid for before I even reach Carson City. I want to live and work in Southern Nevada for the rest of my life, and just like you and the many citizens of Southern Nevada, I want my home to be a diverse and successful place. I may be young, but consider:
- The average Assemblyman has been in office 8.5 years
- The average Assemblyman claims 22.5 years of experience
- The current Assemblymen have been in the legislature for a total of 354 years.
What have they done for you lately? Is Nevada, whose politicians will surely tell you that they are some of the most experienced, in any better position than other states?
That’s why I believe it’s time for something new — a new perspective that is policy focused with a fresh pair of eyes — a difference you can count on.
