About Dan
Dan’s whole family lives and works in Southern Nevada. He graduated from Green Valley High School in the heart of District 29, where he was a state champion debater.
He was admitted to Georgetown University, and studied there for two years before receiving the Basselin Fellowship to study philosophy and language at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He specialized in ethics and ancient Greek, graduating magna cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa honors.
Dan spent his summers during college working as a social worker at Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada. It was here that he became intimately acquainted with just how hard many people in Southern Nevada have it – and how little the solutions coming from Carson City were helping.
Before starting graduate studies, he spent a year teaching at his parochial school and is an active member at the parish. During his time teaching, he became experienced with common sense reforms to improve the quality of education and supply students what they need to succeed in the real world.
Dan is currently a student at UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law. Outside of studies and work, he is an avid supporter of Las Vegas’ cultural tapestry and is a member of The American Legion Nevada Boy’s State Society, The Las Vegas Philharmonic Guild, Nevada Arts Advocates, and The Knights of Columbus. He is also active with the PAC he founded, Battle Born Initiatives, which seeks to recruit and encourage young Nevadans to run for local office.
